White Box

White Box photography is a technique that removes the context and, often the clutter of the background, and thereby allows the focus of the image to be on the specimen. The colors, textures, features, and personality of the subject often come alive in this form of photography. Below are a variety of local butterflies, reptiles, insects, and arachnids photographed in a white box.

How Do I Learn White Box Photography . . .

If you are interested in a white box photography workshop, I can easily design a custom workshop/class to meet your needs. I have a home studio, black light station, and photography specimens available to teach you how to capture white box images. You can choose to stay at my guest house for a reasonable fee and be within 30′ of the studio or choose local lodging. Use the contact form to inquire about a workshop. Upon completion of the workshop, you will go home with a portable white box of your own so you can continue to practice at home.
