Black & White
Black and white imagery removes color which can often dominate an image and stripping away the color helps the eye focus on tonality, structure, contrast, shape, form and quality of light. The Big Bend area lends itself to wonderful black and white because many locations can be somewhat uniform in color, but the textures, shapes, forms, and light can vary dramatically. Here are a few black and white images that Lee really enjoys.
Seeing the World Through Contrast & Texture . . .
Many photographers have never even bothered to shoot an image thinking in terms of black and white. Learning to see images in black and white is a very different skill than seeing in color. Our eyes must learn to see without allowing color to influence our decisions. We must see by “feeling” rather than by color. Join us for a black and white photography workshop to expand your photography skills.
