Grand Teton National Park in Winter . . .
Grand Teton National Park in winter is a photographer’s delight as the mountains, wildlife, scenery, and challenging conditions provide the outdoor photographer with a chilly challenge that can result in some spectacular images. Enduring temperatures as low as -16 to photograph the moon over Grand Teton was just one example of this opportunity. While summer is crowded and quite busy, winter provides a break from the hectic nature of the area and solitude and peace are ever present for the adventurous.
A Wintry White Wonderland . . .
There are always the ever present traditional shots such as Mormon Row, Moulton Barn and Snake River Overlook; however, outstanding images can be found along all the open roads in winter. Moose, Bald Eagles, Coyotes, Muskrat, Bighorn Sheep, and so much more await the ever vigilant photographer. Good winter gear and great light combine for a lifetime experience!
